Starting Pay: $16.75/hr plus a $2.00 shift premium
Shift: Sunday-Wednesday or Thursday-Sunday (every Sunday is required)
12 hour shift: 8pm – 8am
The Rendering Operator Level 1 is an entry level role in supporting daily rendering operations by assisting with essential utility and material‑handling tasks that keep production moving efficiently. The position helps maintain consistent workflow across the department by supporting equipment operators, ensuring trailers and materials are moved and prepared as needed, and contributing to overall cleanliness and organization within work areas.
The role is integral to keeping the rendering process safe, steady, and productive by providing reliable support wherever needed and helping maintain the conditions required for smooth plant operations.
- Unload combo units and safely transfer contents from trailers efficiently.
- Clean work areas thoroughly using soap and high‑pressure hoses, maintaining excellent housekeeping standards throughout service and operational areas.
- Operate forklifts and other motorized equipment as required to support plant operations.
- Perform physical tasks including shoveling, cleaning, bending, stretching, reaching, and climbing stairs and ladders up to 60 feet.
- Safely lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs. or up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Work safely in elevated areas while strictly adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with all levels of operations, including via radio.
- Utilize basic hand tools and high‑pressure hoses effectively to complete assigned tasks.
- Adapt to and work effectively in various environmental conditions, including hot, cold, dusty, or wet settings.
- Sustain physical activity throughout the workday, including standing, sitting, walking, and climbing ladders or stairs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall plant productivity and operations.
- Comply with and operate within all Tyson Foods Health and Safety protocols to ensure a safe workplace.
The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Special Skills- Ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck certification.
The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Requirements- Must have at least 6 months of continuous employment in the last 2 years. Prefer 3 consecutive months of operator experience within the last 2 years.
Rehire criteria: a minimum waiting period of 180 days.
Rehire rule: not more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods.
