Motor Grader Operator

Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an experienced Motor Grader Operator based out of Vienna, GA location. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Motor Grader Operator's primary function is to operate all sizes of Motor Graders assisting with all aspects of the grading operation. All Motor Grader Operators are expected to run other equipment such as backhoes and loaders as needed.

Motor Grader Operators are also expected to assist in the general operation of each job site.

Essential duties and responsibilities include having a basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine, conducting an inspection checklist on equipment, keeping equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, understanding slope and grade stakes information, type of slope, ditch cut depths, and fill section heights, operating the vehicle safely in job site situations, and following the policies and procedures of the Company.

Qualifications and skills required include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical demands include climbing onto and up and down a machine several times a day, sitting in a machine and operating it for several hours without stopping, withstanding vibration and noise, using arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions, performing manual duties, lifting and/or moving up to 60 pounds, and having specific vision abilities.

Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, toxic or caustic chemicals, and usually very loud noise.
