Powerhouse Operator

12‑hour shift position 7 a to 7 p & 7 p to 7 a, rotation monthly.

Hourly payrate $24.90 - $32.35 per hour.

• Ability to be trained and follow procedures in all areas of the powerhouse department, including operating the boiler and working with steam.
• Operate the turbine and work with high‑voltage electricity.
• Operate the gas compressor and work with high‑pressure natural gas.
• Monitor and operate the fire protection system, including the fire pump.
• Monitor multiple water supplies and make adjustments as needed.
• Operate plant water softening systems.
• Operate plant wastewater treatment plant.

• Ability to work safely.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to perform water tests.
• Attention to detail with ability to react quickly and safely in emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Monitor several data systems within the area.
• Person must be trained in CPR / first aid / AED / BBP.
• Make frequent rounds of the entire plant in all weather conditions.
• Basic mechanical abilities.
• Work in confined spaces.
• Trained and act as a Hazwoper Level 2 Responder.

12 hour rotating shift.

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
