• Operate production equipment to produce subassemblies or finished products.
• Assist with set up of equipment.
• Cleans and maintains equipment as needed.
• Notifies Supervisor/Lead of Maintenance and/or repairs needed on equipment.
• Prepares accurate records/documentation related to work progress.
• Reports production problems.
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness for continued training.
• Perform other duties assigned as needed.
• Check products on assembly line to confirm proper assembly and remove defective products.
• Notify supervisor of maintenance and/or repairs needed on equipment.
• Troubleshoot minor production problems.
• Cross train on all jobs in department, fill in for associates as needed.
• Train personnel in the area.
• Coordinate and lead day-to-day activities in the production manufacturing area as necessary, aligning with supervision.
• Responsible for delivering department outputs daily for assigned shift.
• Monitor assigned area and reallocate resources as necessary to meet schedule requirements.
• Prepare weekly staffing plan for the area.
• Report associates not behaving per J&J policies to the Line Facilitator or Manufacturing Manager.
• Delegate work and gather information to complete reports on request.
• Assist in hiring, review process, schedule overtime, work assignments, and vacations, moving associates to level workloads.
• Create and actively pursue a team-based, non-threatening environment designed to promote teamwork and open exchange of ideas.
• Lead Crossover meetings and ensure cross shift participation.
• Identify and communicate progress and areas of improvement.
• Collaborate with Supervisor on performance, operational priorities, and coordination with other shift Leads.
• Coach associates through basic performance problems.
• Ensure employees within shift adhere to GMPs, GDPs and process specifications.
• Maintain training adherence for the shift.
• Escalate major safety, quality or equipment downtime to appropriate manager.
• Promote a safety focused culture and the Good Saves program.
• Ensure sustainability of the 6S program.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, support projects and validations as needed.
• Support others in troubleshooting equipment issues.
• Provide recommendations and opportunities for OEE improvements.
• Open work orders for repairs if required in facilities or equipment.
• Communicate problems and potential solutions to supervisor, technician, engineer and incoming production shifts.
• Manage complexity effectively.
• Promote innovation and continuous learning to other associates.
• Order raw materials to warehouse as needed.
• Communicate business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
• Ensure subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
• Ensure all resources needed are available and in good condition.
• Ensure personal and Company compliance with all regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
• 2-4 Years work experience.
• Knowledge of all sub-functions of Monofilament Processor and Packaging Processor positions.
• Knowledge of test equipment (Starett Gauge, Mitutoyo Gauge, Microscope, Instron, etc).
• Demonstrate teamwork in problem identification, evaluation, and resolution.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to calculate exposure time.
• Ability to use snips, scissors, copiers, label making equipment, and scanner.
• Consistently meet required training due date targets.
• Ability to train others.
• Prior experience with PDS and Monocryl Absorbable sutures is preferred.
• Prior experience in training others and/or Qualified Trainer credentials is preferred.
