Operator 2
The Operator 2 will be responsible for operating and attending to equipment used in the manufacturing of catheters and other medical components/devices, as well as performing assembly operations, according to prescribed work instructions. This position is also responsible for quality controls, assembly, packaging, labeling, and product transfer.
Essential Functions of the Position- Assemble, inspect, clean, and package products according to customer specifications
- Use assigned personal protective equipment and ensure safety norms are met during the work shift
- Operate manual, semi-automatic, and automatic equipment, as well as tools used in the manufacturing process of catheters and other medical components/devices
- Ensure quality products are produced by following work instructions and inspecting parts
- Use required measurement equipment for product quality verification
- Use the Bill of Materials (BOM) to correctly assign required materials
- Mix chemicals and materials as needed
- Periodically inspect production
- Enter information into the ERP system
- Train level I operators
- Ensure training records are accurate and sent to the quality area
- Record the number of manufactured parts and cycle times
- Resolve problems with equipment, materials, or processes
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained up to date
- Support and comply with the company's Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
- Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
- Collaborate with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance, when required
- Understand customer needs and the main markets we operate in
- Participate in company-required meetings
- Maintain an organized work area (5S)
- Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
- Complete all other assigned work tasks
- Valid U.S. passport and visa
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Hand-eye coordination
- Knowledge of cleanroom procedures and regulations
- Familiarity with catheter manufacturing equipment or medical devices
- Problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of math concepts and skills
- Ability to train in other production areas when necessary
- Desirable:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) - Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
Cretex companies use cutting oils, solvents, and other chemicals in the manufacturing process. Periodic tests are conducted to ensure that all chemicals remain well below OSHA-permitted exposure levels.
