Feed Mill Utility Worker
A Feed Mill Utility Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient facility. Key responsibilities include sweeping, mopping, removing trash, controlling dust, and assisting with the receiving of ingredients, such as unloading trucks and moving bags using forklifts. The role also entails basic equipment maintenance, including greasing and checking belts. This position is essential for ensuring food safety in compliance with FSMA regulations.
The job requires physical labor, strict adherence to safety rules, and support for production needs. Additional duties may include grounds maintenance, painting, assisting maintenance staff, and other tasks as assigned.
- Unload and record all inbound warehouse ingredients per FSMA guidelines
- Take daily inventory measurements and log per FSMA, GMP's, State and Federal regulatory requirements (when needed – backup)
- Work closely with Batching Operator (when needed – backup)
- Keep Micro bins at required levels (when needed – backup)
- Dump Micro Ingredients and record usage and lot number on FDA Log (when needed – backup)
- Take Inventories prior to shift start (when needed – backup)
- Keep the mill clean and ready for inspection at all times
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays when needed
- Unload Grain Train when it arrives (could be working nights and weekends)
- Keep reclaim barrels and trash cans empty
- Will be trained to operate a Fork Lift
- Dispose all empty bags and trash used during shift
- Wear all required PPE
- Work with supervisor and other employees with miscellaneous projects
- Work at a fast pace for extended periods of time
- Be certified through company to operate a forklift
- Must be able to frequently climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend.
- Work in adverse weather conditions, constantly subjected to dusty, hot environments, wet and cold environments
- Ability to lift and carry 50-100 pounds
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Frequently work in a loud environment requiring ear protection.
