Daniel Defense LLC is seeking a Tool Maker to build, repair, and maintain precision tools, jigs, and fixtures supporting firearms manufacturing. You will machine, fit, and assemble components to tight tolerances using mills, lathes, grinders, and CNC equipment. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and GD&T, troubleshooting tooling problems on the production floor, and performing preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and safety. You'll collaborate closely with engineering and production teams in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment committed to craftsmanship, quality, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Build, repair, and maintain tools, jigs, and fixtures for firearms manufacturing
- Operate manual and CNC machines to produce precision tooling components
- Interpret blueprints and GD&T to meet tight tolerance requirements
- Inspect and verify tooling accuracy using precision measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues impacting production quality or uptime
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and fixtures to ensure reliability and safety
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams on tooling design improvements
- Document tooling changes, repairs, and maintenance activities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in tooling and manufacturing processes
- Adhere to all safety, quality, and company standards in a fast-paced environment
Required Skills
- Precision machining
