PAINTER

Steelworks LLC is a single-source steel fabricator and construction firm providing a full range of design, engineering, and fabrication. Operated with AISC standards in fabrication along with our complete in-house capabilities, enabling fast response, maximum flexibility, and complete coordination of all phases of any project. Our state-of-the-art facility includes sophisticated robotic equipment, in-house detailing, blasting and painting, including finish coatings.

Structural Steel Painter at Steelworks consists of loading and unloading the bucks in the paint booth. The painter will then prep the steel and remove all debris per the required application and apply the paint per the specs listed on the drawings. It is also the painter’s responsibility to visually look for missed welds and or welds with poor quality. Then after the paint has been applied the painter must use a wet paint mill gauge and verify the proper amount of paint has been applied.

Prior five (3) years Structural Steel Painting experience.

• Ability to operate multiple forklift types – Sit down, Combi-Lift
• Ability to read and interpret tape measure
• Able to identify various types and sizes of materials
• Able to listen and prioritize several projects at once
• Must be proficient with an overhead crane

• Team Player with solid communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret mill thickness gauge.
• Observe company safety policy while working.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb and crawl over and under fabricated materials.
• Work extensive hours in a semi and non-climate environment.
• Physical ability to lift, push and carry up to 50 pounds.
