Position Summary
Level Grove Baptist Church is seeking a passionate, spiritually mature, and highly relational leader to serve as our next Children's Pastor/Director. This individual will provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all ministries involving children from birth through 5th grade, partnering with parents and volunteers to help children know, love, and follow Jesus. The Children's Pastor/Director will lead a growing ministry that prioritizes biblical teaching, Gospel-centered discipleship, volunteer development, family engagement, and outreach to our community.
This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor and serves as a key member of the church leadership team.
- Provide overall leadership and direction for all children's ministries from birth through 5th grade.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive discipleship strategy for children and families.
- Ensure all teaching environments are biblically sound, engaging, age-appropriate, and Gospel-centered.
- Create a welcoming and safe environment for children and families.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and encourage volunteer leaders.
- Build and maintain healthy volunteer teams for Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings, special events, and outreach opportunities.
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and spiritual growth among volunteers.
- Equip and encourage parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their children.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding ministry opportunities, discipleship resources, and upcoming events.
- Assist families in understanding salvation, baptism, and spiritual growth.
- Oversee all Sunday morning children's ministry programming.
- Lead and coordinate Wednesday night children's ministry activities.
- Plan and execute annual ministry events including Vacation Bible School, Kids Camp, local children's mission opportunities, mission trips, and seasonal outreach events.
- Manage ministry budgets responsibly.
- Maintain ministry policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Utilize church management software and communication tools effectively.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings and ministry planning.
- Growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Clear calling to children's ministry.
- Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Demonstrated Christian character and servant leadership.
- Experience leading or serving in children's ministry preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers effectively.
- Heart for discipleship and family ministry.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Seminary training beneficial but not required.
- Equivalent ministry experience considered.
This is a full-time ministry position requiring a minimum commitment of 40+ hours per week. Responsibilities include Sunday ministry leadership, Wednesday evening programming, staff meetings, volunteer development, family ministry events, outreach opportunities, and seasonal initiatives including Vacation Bible School, Kids Camp, and mission experiences. Some evenings, weekends, and overnight events are required throughout the year.
