Job DescriptionPosition Overview:
Arlington Baptist Church is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the Youth Pastor in our church. This role is vital in guiding and shepherding the youth of our congregation while supporting the overall pastoral ministry of the church. The ideal candidate will have a heart for youth ministry, a deep connection with Southern Baptist beliefs, and the ability to foster strong relationships with both youth and their families.
- Develop, implement, and execute a Youth Program.
- Sunday School and Wednesday Youth Service.
- Develop and implement youth small groups within weekly Services.
- Vision cast, organize, and plan the above-mentioned Youth Program.
- Plan, organize, and lead engaging youth programs, events, and activities that foster spiritual growth, discipleship, and a sense of community.
- Teach and facilitate youth Bible studies and discussions, encouraging a deep understanding of scripture and its practical application in daily life.
- Create a safe and welcoming environment where young people can share their joys and struggles while offering guidance and support.
- Assist the senior pastor in leading worship services, preaching, and offering pastoral care to the congregation.
- Collaborate with the senior pastor and church leadership to provide support in various pastoral duties.
- Assist the senior pastor in planning the annual church calendar.
- Be available for counseling and prayer for members of all ages, offering spiritual guidance and emotional support.
- Assist senior pastor, church secretary, and leadership in day-to-day administrative duties.
- Encourage youth to actively engage in outreach and evangelism efforts within the community.
- Equip and train youth to share their faith and engage in meaningful conversations with their peers.
- Collaborate with the church to organize and participate in community events and mission trips.
- Develop meaningful relationships with the youth and their families, offering mentorship, encouragement, and support.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to keep them informed about youth activities and to involve them in the youth ministry
A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to Southern Baptist theology. A bachelor's degree in theology, ministry, or a related field is preferred, but not required. Previous experience in youth ministry is desirable, but candidates with a passion for youth ministry and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply. Effective communication skills, both in teaching and interpersonal relationships.
A heart for service and a desire to make a positive impact in the lives of young people. Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and volunteers.
Compensation for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
