SCHEDULE
:
Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift
Provides line management for assigned inpatient and/or outpatient areas/departments. Facilitates inter and intra-departmental communication and collaboration. Ensures the delivery of quality patient care. Ensures Department meets regulatory/accreditation standards. Manages department within established budgetary parameters. Represents the hospital in various local, state and regional activities. 24 hour accountability for operation of nursing units to include oversight of scheduling, staffing, and patient assignments.
Serves as physician liaison. Provides patient satisfaction oversight. Provides core measure oversight. Ensures quality improvement and patient safety measures are addressed and maintained. Initiates cost savings activities. Supports patient care and promotes optimal patient outcomes by providing: new employee orientation; unit specific orientation; ongoing in-service education; competency assessment and skill validation. Assists in developing, evaluating, and revising standards, policies and procedures.
Oversight of quality indicators. Maintains an atmosphere which ensures South Georgia Medical Center’s mission, vision, values, code of conduct, goals, policies and standards are consistently met. Oversees position management.
Education, licensure, and certification:
Current RN license in State of Georgia. Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field required. Current CPR certification. Six (6) years of experience in nursing, including supervisory / leadership experience required. Excellent ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of diverse individuals and groups both internal and external to organization. Ability to lead and develop others individually and as a team, and to be an effective team member.
Ability to adapt to new situations, set priorities, and utilize problem-solving techniques with minimal direction and appropriate collaboration. Demonstrates strong verbal, written and behavioral communication skills. Demonstrates current knowledge of patient care, leadership, and management principles. Ability to operate various equipment (e.g. office, telecommunications, etc.).
