Donalsonville Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for our 65-bed facility. This full-time position provides anesthesia and related services for all patients in need while working collaboratively with surgeons, physicians, and nursing staff to deliver exceptional patient care.
Position Summary
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) provides anesthesia services for inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures at Donalsonville Hospital. This position supports two operating rooms and provides anesthesia care for surgical specialties, including general surgery, endoscopy procedures, and ENT cases. The CRNA provides care for geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients and is responsible for pre-anesthesia assessment, administration and monitoring of anesthesia, post-anesthesia care, and emergency airway management when needed.
The CRNA works collaboratively with surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Select and administer anesthesia techniques, medications, and adjunct drugs appropriate to the individual patient within established procedures pre, intra, and postoperatively.
- Review patient charts, perform pre-anesthesia assessments, evaluate laboratory data, and develop pre, intra, and postoperative anesthesia care plans for geriatric, adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients.
- Perform endotracheal intubation, extubation, and other invasive procedures as clinically indicated.
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and provide post-anesthesia care.
- Identify and manage emergency situations - including CPR and emergent airway management in E.D. or on Med/Surg if necessary.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and respect for all patients and visitors.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude toward working place and its requirements.
- Maintains performance, patient, and employee satisfaction and financial standards as outlines in the performance evaluation.
- Complies with all policies, procedures, and requirements outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Must adhere to Donalsonville Hospital, Inc. behavioral standard, including creating positive relationships with patients/family, coworkers, colleagues, and with self.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Full-Time Position
- One week on/one week off
- On-call while working on week
- Approximately 24/36 hours per week
- Current Georgia RN License.
- Current Georgia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Anesthesia.
- Current certification and compliance with recertification requirements through the NBCRNA.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
- Competency of anesthesia equipment and pharmaceuticals as appropriate for job.
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read and write legibly.
