Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides high-quality, patient-centered urgent care services to patients of all ages. The APP evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute illnesses and minor injuries in a fast-paced urgent care setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive and focused histories and physical examinations.

Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries.

Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, X-rays, EKGs).

Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, foreign body removal, and other minor procedures.

Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations.

Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care.

Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) - Experity.

Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings as required.

Qualifications
Education & Certification

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (FNP/ENP preferred) or Physician Assistant program.

DEA registration.

Board certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent).

Current BLS certification required.

ACLS and PALS preferred (or required based on patient population)

DOT Certification

Experience

Minimum 1–2 years of urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience preferred.

Experience with pediatric and adult populations preferred.

Proficiency in common urgent care procedures.
