Salary Range: $25.00 To $25.00 Hourly

We are currently seeking a Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse and PRN Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team at Bacon County Sheriff’s Office located in Alma, Georgia.

About this position:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing care for and treating detainees in a correctional setting. Correctional nurses administer both routine and emergency medical care and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.

• Requires graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
• Current LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license.
• Current Basic Life Support.
• Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check.

Job Type: Full-Time

Shift: 7:00A-7:00P
- Day Shift. PRN Availability.

• Provide patient treatments such as blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, weight checks, nebulizer treatments, etc. as ordered by a licensed medical provider.
• Ensure all referrals for consultation, treatment or resolution of problems are valid and applicable to the documented nursing plans.
• Administer ordered medications to inmates as ordered by a licensed medical provider and approved by the medical director and document administration as required by GENESYS Health policy/procedure.
• Carry out nursing care plans on inmates as prescribed or directed by ALP, Physician, and/or RN.
• Ensure security of area and medications while administration is occurring; as well as keeping safety top priority.
• Complete initial and ongoing screening on detained individuals upon admission into a correctional setting.
• Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients.
