Position

Part time Registered Nurse 2

Work Hours

Within the Health Department operating hours:
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday 8-5, Tuesdays 8-7 & Fridays 8-12 (mostly)

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury or disability, the promotion of health and the maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.

Additional Duties
  • Knows vaccine schedules for children and adults
  • Gives correct vaccines to children and adults
  • Gives vaccines needed for school attendance along with correct certifications
  • Conducts audits for school and daycares
  • Conducts scoliosis screenings for schools
  • Conducts hearing, vision and dental screenings needed for school attendance
  • Cross‑trains to TB, Child Health, Family Planning and IDC clinics
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • CPR certification
  • OR Associate's degree/diploma in Nursing from an accredited college, one year of PHN experience, completion of a PHN course within one year of hire, current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license, CPR certification

  • Experience vaccinating all age groups
  • Ability to read, write and speak Spanish
