Job SummaryWe are seeking a dedicated and skilled Infection Control Nurse to join our team at Berrien Oaks Nursing and Rehab. As an Infection Control Nurse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of our residents by implementing and enforcing infection control practices. - Assist in leading, organizing, evaluating, and managing nursing and clinical personnel with infection control practices through sound management practices and delegation.
- Make daily patient rounds with the appropriate manager/supervisor(s) to note resident/patient conditions and ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
- Ensure center compliance with applicable local, state, federal and other regulatory agencies and corporate quality assurance standards, certifications, and licensure requirements.
- Participate in and hold accountable those responsible for staff recruiting, training, supervision, scheduling, all related personnel issues and the overall quality in this area.
- Participate in the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care ("IPOC") process.
- Comply with laws and regulations applicable to the position and act in accordance with the company’s Corporate Compliance Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
- Effective verbal, written, and communication skills.
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.
- The ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other facility staff.
- Possess a current, unencumbered GA State Nurse License.
- Current CPR.
- One to three years of professional experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet).
- Attends regularly conducted staff meetings and participates regularly in continuing education in-service programs.
