Position: RN Supervisor - FT - Night
Location: Claxton

Key Responsibilities
  • Assists the Director of Nursing in organizing and directing day‑to‑day functions of licensed and unlicensed nursing staff, personnel, and administrative duties.
  • Admits, discharges, and transfers patients as requested, and manages documentation and billing supplies.
  • Sends patients to the hospital when necessary and follows procedures when a physician is unreachable.
  • Develops work assignments for unlicensed staff.
  • Conducts compliance rounds, reports pertinent issues, and maintains effective communication with attending physicians.
  • Supports the Director of Nursing Services by coordinating the care‑planning/MDS process and committee meetings.
  • Participates in patient screening and selection as needed.
  • Monitors physician services (documentation and visits) in accordance with regulations.
  • Follows up on consultant recommendations (pharmacy, dietary, etc.).
  • Provides demonstration/education for licensed and unlicensed staff to perform duties.
  • Completes documentation procedures for patients, using appropriate forms, timelines, and Medicare requirements.
  • Communicates with physicians, arranges transportation for doctor appointments, and contacts families.
  • Demonstrates supervisory skills, administering corrective actions fairly and without discrimination.
  • Prepares reports/documentation for the Director of Nursing Services supporting departmental updates and corrective actions.
  • Assists with interviewing, screening, and selection of associates within staffing budgets.
  • Maintains personnel file documentation including reference checks, screenings, corrective actions, evaluations, and skill verifications.
  • Responds to complaints or grievances from associates, patients, or families in the department.
  • Fosters effective inter‑departmental communication to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Monitors licensed and unlicensed staff compliance with procedural guidelines and protocols.
  • Keeps current knowledge of licensure standards and the survey process.
  • Monitors the work of other nursing staff in the unit for thoroughness.
  • Conducts rounds to ensure proper care and cleanliness of patients.
  • Coordinates patient care and assists nursing staff as needed.
  • Implements Education, Infection Control, and Quality Assurance programs.
  • Promotes the System’s image and reputation through servant leadership and open communication.
  • Contributes to committees, work groups, projects, and other collaborative efforts of the System.
  • Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.
Skills & Abilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Registered Nursing (RN) degree from an accredited college or university, or completion of an approved RN program.
  • Active RN license to practice in the State of Georgia.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides oversight and direction to unlicensed nursing personnel.
Technical & Cognitive Skills
  • Language skills – read, interpret safety rules and procedural manuals; write routine reports and correspondences; speak effectively before groups.
  • Mathematical skills – add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning ability – apply common sense understanding to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions; solve problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Proficiency
  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Certificates & Licenses
  • Registered Nursing (RN) degree from an accredited college or university.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
  • Regular sitting, talking, and hearing; frequent walking; use of hands to handle items, reach, and occasionally stand.
  • Vision requires close and distance vision with ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment typically quiet with reasonable accommodations available.
