The Clinch County Health Department is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the full-time, salaried position of PH Registered Nurse based in Homerville, GA.

Under general supervision, provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols. Provide community health services in programs such as Women’s Health, Child Health, Adult Health, etc. to the general public. Assess client conditions, develop plans of care, provide treatments, educate clients, and refer clients to agencies that can assist in meeting social and/or health needs. Record observations and responses to treatment.
Adhere to protocols for vaccine administration and specimen collection, including patient identification, registration, preparation and administration of vaccine, labeling, requisitioning, and specimen transport to the lab by courier. Ensure safety precautions, HIPAA requirements and data entry are accurate and acknowledged. Administer vaccinations during designated events such as mass vaccination clinics or in the event of a declared emergency.
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire. Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license and CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- One year of experience as a registered professional nurse.
- Public health experience.
- Bilingual.
Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary. SEHD accepts educational credentials recognized by CHEA and/or DOE and will contact educational institutions to verify degrees, diplomas, licensure, etc. The candidate selected may be subject to pre‑employment drug screening, a criminal background check, and fingerprint criminal records investigation. Under special circumstances, employees may be required to assist in meeting emergency responsibilities of the department.
The candidate selected will be required to provide an 'official' college transcript, if applicable. This position may close if a satisfactory applicant pool is identified.
