Location: Hamilton
Public Health Nursing Supervisor 1 – Harris County Health Department (Hamilton, GA)
This position will be based in Hamilton, GA and will function as a Public Health Nurse/County Nurse Manager in the Harris County Health Department. It is not a remote position.
Responsibilities- Plan client‑level and population‑based nursing services.
- Evaluate, compile, and submit data and reports by established deadlines.
- Evaluate supplies, equipment, and medication needs and ensure adequate levels are maintained.
- Monitor clinic activity and modify schedule as needed.
- Coordinate peer reviews and protocol signature pages, mock drills, and emergency vaccine storage plans.
- Order and approve requisitions for program supplies and medications/vaccines.
- Identify training needs of clinic staff and ensure training is provided.
- Identify new community collaborations and/or revenue resources when applicable.
- Participate in Nurse Manager meetings monthly/quarterly.
- Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of nursing experience.
- Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire.
- Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license.
- CPR certification.
- Or two (2) years of experience at a lower‑level PH Registered Nurse Supervisor (HCP
193) or equivalent position.
- Professional experience in public health nursing.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of PHN experience.
- Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license.
- CPR certification.
All employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency and may be called to work at a shelter, Specimen Point of Collection site, or Point of Dispensing site. Attendance at such sites is a condition of employment, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.
