Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

Location: Sparta, GA 31087 (Mercer Medicine clinic)

• Provide primary health care to general population under supervision and within protocols.
• Work independently, collaboratively, and under protocols with designated physician.
• Enforce health and immunization policies; provide immunizations and injections as needed.
• Make referrals to appropriate medical specialists.
• Provide patient education for clinic attendees.

• Master’s degree in Nursing/Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner from an accredited institution.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification from ANCC or AANP.
• At least one year of experience in a general clinic or physician practice.
• Certificate of current liability insurance coverage.
• Prescription authority from the DEA (preferred).
• Experience in a family practice setting is a plus.

• Competent in Basic Life Support with current certification.
• Exam and evaluate patient signs/symptoms and initiate treatment within scope of practice.
• Create treatment plans for acute and chronic diseases; educate on disease prevention; emphasize preventative care.
• Manage overall patient care regarding lifestyle and developmental issues.
• Prescribe medications using our MDs DEA or personal DEA.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, Microsoft Office, and EMR (Athena) skills.
• Team player with clinic colleagues.

Criminal history required.
