Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides high-quality, patient-centered urgent care services to patients of all ages. The APP evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages acute illnesses and minor injuries in a fast-paced urgent care setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive and focused histories and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, X-rays, EKGs)
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, foreign body removal, and other minor procedures
  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
  • Determine appropriate disposition (discharge, referral, emergency department transfer)
  • Collaborate with supervising physicians and healthcare team members
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) - Experity
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetings as required
Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (FNP/ENP preferred) or Physician Assistant program
  • Current, unrestricted state license
  • DEA registration
  • Board certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA, or equivalent)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS and PALS preferred (or required based on patient population)
  • DOT Certification

Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years of urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience preferred
  • Experience with pediatric and adult populations preferred
  • Proficiency in common urgent care procedures
