Work Shift: Night (United States of America)
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Exemplary Practice and Outcomes- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and analytical/critical thinking to ensure individualized care and effective partnership coordination.
- Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that reflects population‑specific characteristics and cultural diversity.
- Partner with the patient and significant others using appropriate communication methods such as bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching, keeping the patient’s goals the focus of the care plan.
- Practice in accordance with current clinical practice standards.
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, high‑quality patient care that promotes the professional care delivery model, including timely documentation and fostering a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by practicing in a fiscally responsible manner that supports the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participate in and support performance improvement initiatives that include all stakeholders, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels.
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, or students across all disciplines, modeling professional nursing practice and fostering a healthy work environment.
- Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research and performance improvement; participate in value analysis and other decision‑making processes to evaluate patient‑care products.
- Uphold all health‑care system/organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements such as TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar Health Systems safety absolutes.
- Collect data, pose relevant clinical questions, consult appropriate experts, and use appropriate resources to address practice questions.
- Proactively plan for the care of patients across the care continuum while providing direct patient care.
- Participate in the development of protocols and procedures, collaborating with care managers and other team members to achieve best‑practice outcomes.
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
