Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a Travel Nurse RN – Operating Room (Alma, GA) for a 13‑week travel assignment.

Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACLS (AHA/ARC), PALS (AHA/ARC), or ENPC certifications
  • OR Nursing Certification (CNOR)
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are ready and functional for each surgical procedure.
  • Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery, addressing concerns and ensuring comfort and safety according to procedural requirements.
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhere to infection control protocols and sterile technique.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team, providing instruments, supplies, and support promptly to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Monitor the patient's condition during surgery, documenting significant changes and notifying the surgeon.
  • Handle surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring their proper use, sterilization, and disposal according to facility protocols.
  • Manage specimen collection, labeling, and transport according to facility protocols, ensuring accurate diagnostic results.
  • Document all aspects of patient care in the perioperative setting accurately and thoroughly.
  • Participate in patient handoff communication during pre‑ and post‑operative phases, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Assist in cleaning and restocking the operating room between cases, adhering to infection control and turnover protocols.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including proper use of PPE and infection prevention measures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
  • Physical:
    Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
  • Interpersonal:
    Must work effectively with a variety of personnel, presenting a positive attitude and professionalism.
  • Technical/Motor:
    Must grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures or using department equipment.
  • Mental:
    Must cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure, working under close supervision occasionally, and maintaining concentration to detail.
  • Sensory:
    Must possess visual acuity and the ability to communicate effectively.
