Compensation: $45.00/hr. + Shift Differential: + $3.00/hr. + Weekend Differential: + $1.00/hr.

Position OverviewThe PRN Registered Nurse (RN) at Hays State Prison provides flexible, as-needed clinical coverage and plays a critical role in delivering patient care and supporting overall clinical operations. This position requires strong clinical judgment, independence, and the ability to integrate quickly into an established team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients.
- Administer medications, treatments, and perform assessments.
- Respond to clinical needs and emergent situations.
- Collaborate with providers, mental health staff, and nursing team.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with protocols.
- Support continuity of care across shifts.
- Active RN license in Georgia or compact license (must be in good standing).
- Current CPR certification (must be active).
- Required experience in one or more of the following:
Behavioral Health, ER, Med-Surg, or Correctional Healthcare. - Strong clinical judgment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently in a structured environment.
- Must be available for a minimum of 2 shifts per month.
- Must be available for at least 2 weekends per month.
- Must be able to provide some holiday coverage as needed.
