Urgent Care Physician Associate

seeks an experienced Urgent Care Physician Associate for locums coverage in Georgia. In this role, you will evaluate and treat walk-in patients of all ages, managing acute illnesses and minor injuries in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include performing exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, prescribing medications, and doing basic procedures such as suturing and splinting. You will collaborate with supervising physicians and clinical staff, document care in the EHR, and provide patient education while ensuring high-quality, efficient, and compassionate service.

Responsibilities

• Provide urgent care clinical services including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for walk-in patients of all ages
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests such as labs and imaging to guide patient care
• Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Perform common urgent care procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care, incision and drainage)
• Collaborate with supervising physicians, nursing staff, and support team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Document encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) in a timely manner
• Triage and prioritize patients based on acuity to maintain safe, efficient patient flow
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and appropriate follow-up or emergency precautions
