Under the supervision of Charge Nurse, Department Director, and Chief Nursing Officer, provides direct and indirect patient care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to acutely ill patients, and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment Meets the communication needs of the patient/family, departmental staff, and medical staff.
Participates in performance improvement activities.
Qualifications:
Education:
High schoo l diploma or equivalent
Current BCLS certification
Experience:Preferred , but not required. May obtain on the job .
Language Sk ill s :Ability to read and communicate effect iv e ly in English .
Cl i nical S kills:Basic pat i ent care skills i ncluding; but not limited to weights , baths, and vital s ign s.
Physical/Mental Demands:Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions ; to move , sit , stand , walk , and bend intermitt ently throughout the work day . Lift and / or move up to 75 pounds.
Must possess sigh/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the applicant to adequate ly fulfill the requir ements of this position .
Use of mech anical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities ass ign ed .
