Location: South Fulton

Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Ground Person to join our growing team in Atlanta. This is a non-union position reporting to the Vegetation Management Foreman.

Responsibilities
  • Use a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees.
  • Gather brush and feed brush into wood chipper.
  • Apply chemical herbicide to right‑of‑way following brush removal.
  • Utilize hose and spray nozzle from truck‑mounted spray equipment, or backpack for remote areas.
  • Service truck, chipper, and equipment, maintaining them in neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.
  • Assist senior spray person in mixing herbicide in holding tank.
Qualifications
  • Must have or be willing to develop experience in vegetation management or as a grounds person.
  • Must be able to operate, service, and maintain all required tools and equipment.
  • Must have the ability to concentrate and maintain attention for extended periods.
  • Must consistently wear necessary PPE.
  • Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
  • Must withstand exposure to various weather conditions (rain, heat, sun, cold) while maintaining safety.
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work standard 8 or 10‑hour day Monday–Thursday; additional hours as needed.
  • Support call‑out work with overtime during emergencies (holidays, weekends, long hours).
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, pass a background check, and obtain a DOT medical card within two weeks of start date.
  • Must have adequate eyesight for judging distances and coordinating equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the work site.
  • Must be able to work around hazardous equipment.
  • Must tolerate excessive noise from machinery while using hearing protection.
  • Must work in various temperatures and weather conditions, including harsh vegetation.
  • Occasional work on uneven ground acceptable.
  • With proper PPE, work around falling limbs acceptable.
