Scale Clerk

GENERAL

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Farmer Stock Scale Clerk will work safely while handling the scaling of trailers into and out of APGG.

• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the American Peanut Growers Group Policies & Procedures Manual.
• Ensure all trucks are properly and accurately weighed when leaving the site.
• Obtain customer name or job location for each load.
• Accurate data entry including shipping documents, bill of lading and export documents.
• Provide prompt, friendly and accurate service to customers.
• Competency in Word and Excel.
• Must be able to perform simple math with a calculator.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers, truckers, dispatchers, growers and the general public at all times.
• Must be able to properly seal outbound shipments and account for all seals.
• Must be able to lift at least 5 pounds from the floor using safe lifting practices.
• Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

• Proficient in basic computer skills.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job.
• Ensures a safe working environment for self and others while performing assigned tasks.
• Normal business hours begin at 7:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed during harvest.
