Position Overview

The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of workplace health, safety, and regulatory compliance within a high‑volume e‑commerce fulfillment environment. This role provides strategic and hands‑on leadership to ensure a safe working environment while supporting operational excellence and startup ramp‑up efforts. The ideal candidate is a proactive, people‑focused safety leader who thrives in fast‑paced distribution environments and understands how to balance safety standards with operational performance.

This individual will build a culture of accountability, awareness, and continuous improvement while partnering closely with site leadership to drive injury prevention and compliance excellence.

Monday–Friday, Day Shift (flexibility required to support operational needs)

Competitive Compensation

Attractive annual salary of $87,000–$100,000 plus a performance‑based bonus

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all site safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Drive a culture of safety ownership and accountability across all levels of the operation.
  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
  • Monitor and report on key safety metrics, including recordable incidents, near misses, and lost‑time cases.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to integrate safety into daily operational planning and decision‑making.
  • Coordinate safety training, onboarding safety programs, and ongoing compliance education.
  • Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping related to safety programs and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage workers’ compensation cases and collaborate with HR and leadership on return‑to‑work programs.
  • Support startup and ramp‑up efforts by embedding strong safety processes into operational design.
  • Maintain a visible, floor‑focused presence to reinforce safe behaviors and coach leaders and associates.
Requirements Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety (EHS), safety management, or a related field within a high‑volume 3PL, distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or fulfillment environment.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and federal, state, and local safety compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience leading safety programs, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a culture of safety ownership and accountability in fast‑paced operational environments.
  • Experience monitoring and reporting key safety metrics (TRIR, DART, near misses, lost‑time incidents).
  • Experience managing workers’ compensation cases and return‑to‑work programs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train, coach, and influence leaders and associates at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain a visible, floor‑focused leadership presence and proactively identify hazards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting systems.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Business, or related field preferred.
