Our client, a manufacturer of turbojet engines, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring that all suppliers and internal Quality meet stringent standards and contribute to the overall success of clients’ products. This role requires a strong technical background, manufacturing experience, being able to identify cost efficiencies, exceptional problem-solving skills, QMS development, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier Evaluation, Selection, and Approval: Conduct audits and assessments of potential suppliers to evaluate their capabilities, processes, and quality systems.

Qualification:
Lead qualifications of suppliers and components through FAI process. Collaborate with suppliers to improve product quality and increase productivity for cost optimization. - Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance plans for suppliers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Track supplier performance metrics, analyze data, and report on quality issues, trends, and corrective actions.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate quality-related issues and facilitate root cause analysis to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, and manufacturing, to address quality concerns and drive improvements.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of supplier quality processes, including audits, inspections, and quality reports.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that suppliers adhere to all relevant regulatory and safety requirements within the aerospace industry.
- Quality Management System: Responsible for the internal Quality Management System, conduct internal quality audits, and support registrar certification of the Quality Management System.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering, as well as internal processes including PPAP, FAI, MRB, and associated documentation.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing techniques and materials used in jet engine production.
- Excellent experience working directly with suppliers, including evaluating, qualification and development of relationships.
- Familiarity with US and European GD&T standards and certifications (ASME & ISO
2678) - Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and quality tools (FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma).
- Experience developing QMS systems and writing quality procedures including; in-house and supplier quality, document control, revision control, in-process inspections and in-house assembly.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (40%+).
- Certification in Quality (e.g., CQE, CQA) is a plus.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and logistics within the aerospace sector.
