The Quality supervisor is a hands‑on, floor‑based role responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy of the inspection team. You will perform high‑level inspections (IQC, PQC, FQC) and act as the primary technical expert on the floor. While you will guide the daily workflow of the inspectors, your primary focus is the physical verification of product integrity, electrical safety, and mechanical compliance.
Key Responsibilities (Task‑Focused)- Active Inspection:
Spend 80% of the shift on the floor performing and auditing IQC, PQC, and FQC tasks. Directly verify bolt torque, marking presence, and cable connectivity. - Technical Troubleshooting:
Use industrial electrical expertise to physically inspect complex wiring and resolve disputed "Pass/Fail" results on the line. - Floor Coordination:
Organize the daily rotation of inspectors to ensure all stations are covered. Jump into any station (IQC/PQC/FQC) as needed to prevent bottlenecks. - On‑the‑Job Training:
Demonstrate correct inspection techniques to new hires, including the proper use of torque tools, schematic reading, and defect identification. - First‑Article Inspection:
Personally conduct the first inspection of a shift or a new production run to set the quality standard for the team. - Data Entry & Logs:
Physically compile daily defect counts and scrap data from the floor into Excel/ERP systems for the Engineering team.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. - Electrical Expertise:
Must have a strong background in industrial electrical work. You must be able to physically trace circuits, read one‑line diagrams/schematics, and identify NEC‑compliant installations. - Mechanical Skill:
Expert‑level proficiency with hand tools, torque wrenches, and precision gauges. - QC
Experience:
3–5 years in a manufacturing Quality environment with a "Lead" or "Senior" technical designation. - Software:
Hands‑on experience with MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems for logging daily results.
Physical Requirements
- PPE:
Constant use of Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Boots, and ESD gear. - Lifting:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and move/maneuver products for thorough inspection. - Stamina:
This is a high‑activity role requiring standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the shift.
