Summary

  • Responsible for monitoring the inspection and testing of incoming material and finished products in accordance with Hoshizaki quality standards. Directs and supervises a group of employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures. Assists in root cause analysis and the development of new test methods and procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Assists in developing test methods and procedures for testing and inspection to ensure that products are flawless and function as designed.
  • Identifies and addresses recurring problems with the quality of products.
  • Analyzes issues reported from customer feedback (VOC) and implementing changes to manufacturing, as necessary.
  • Assists in follow ups with suppliers on quality deviations and corrective actions; ensures solutions are identified and implemented.
  • Analyzes reports and defective products from production to determine trends and root cause.
  • Interprets engineering drawings and inspection data.
  • Analyzes process reports and troubleshoots problems to correct and/or prevent quality issues.
  • Develops and/or adapts inspection equipment to meet quality control standards.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED and 5 years of production, manufacturing, assembly, and/or quality experience.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
  • Familiarity with ISO and lean manufacturing principals (5S, Kaizen).
  • Ability to use quality inspection equipment including but not limited to depth gage, calipers, micrometer, product gages, and coordinate-measuring machine (CMM).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes related to fabrication of metal products.
  • Effective oral and written communications skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
Physcial Requirements Non-Manufacturing:
  • Sit for extended periods of time.
  • Stand and walk intermittently.
  • Maintain balance to prevent falling.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and work platforms.
  • Carry or move materials and equipment weighing up to 51 lbs. Lift objects of various weights in different directions.
  • Hold arms and hands in one position for extended periods of time.
  • Use hands and fingers to move and assemble small parts.
  • Repetitive motions of body parts.
  • Coordinated use of hands and feet to operate equipment.
  • Intermittent manual labor that includes bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Operate manual and powered hand tools (e.g., pneumatic rivet and staple guns; drills; drivers; and foaming guns).
  • Operate powered industrial trucks and equipment (e.g., lifts, pallet jacks, and aerial platforms).
  • Operate machinery (e.g., press brakes, refrigerant charging stations, and hoists).
  • Squat and kneel to access materials and equipment in tight or enclosed spaces.
  • Handle chemicals.
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Communicate with others to exchange information.
  • When travel is required, visual acuity to operate motor vehicle in daytime and nighttime.
