About the role Ensiteusa is seeking dedicated professionals to join our Land and Right of Way Services team in Houston, Texas. What you’ll do
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to identify land acquisition needs for various projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct thorough research on land titles, property boundaries, and existing easements to facilitate the acquisition process.
  • Prepare and review legal documents related to land acquisition, including easements, leases, and purchase agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Engage with landowners and negotiate terms of land use, easements, and other agreements, fostering positive relationships and effective communication.
  • Coordinate with local government agencies and regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits and approvals for land use and right-of-way activities.
  • Maintain detailed records of land transactions, negotiations, and communications to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the acquisition process.
  • Assist in the development of project plans and timelines, ensuring that land acquisition milestones are met in a timely manner.
  • Provide support during project execution, addressing any land-related issues that may arise and working to resolve them efficiently.
  • Stay informed about changes in land use regulations, property laws, and industry best practices to ensure compliance and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in community outreach efforts to educate stakeholders about project impacts and gather feedback from local residents.
  • Collaborate with environmental specialists to assess the potential impact of projects on land and natural resources, ensuring sustainable practices are followed.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, summarizing land acquisition progress and challenges.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Land Management, Real Estate, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in land acquisition, right-of-way services, or a similar role within the energy or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of property law, land use regulations, and the right-of-way acquisition process.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using GIS software and other land management tools to analyze property data and visualize land use scenarios.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and their implications for land use and project development.
Nice to have
  • Certification as a Right of Way Agent (RWA) or similar professional designation.
  • Experience working with government agencies and understanding of public sector processes.
  • Knowledge of local land use policies and community planning initiatives in Texas.
  • Previous experience in community engagement or public relations related to land projects.
Skills & tools
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for document preparation and data analysis.
  • Experience with GIS applications for mapping and spatial analysis.
  • Familiarity with project management software to track progress and manage timelines.
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating land use impacts and opportunities.
