Technician In Bioprocesses
Micropep constructs a more sustainable agriculture for future generations. We develop natural crop protection solutions based on the incredible potential of micropeptides, small natural protein molecules that target and regulate plant genes and proteins. We are building the next generation of sustainable solutions for farmers who care about their crops and the future of our planet.
Micropep was founded in 2016 as a spin-off of "LRSV", a French plant research laboratory of the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and the University of Toulouse, a center of excellence in Agri Tech. To date, Micropep has raised nearly 60 million dollars from leading European and American investors and has begun its expansion in the United States in 2022.
We are a team of more than 50 accomplished and motivated people from different scientific, technical, and commercial backgrounds. We are united by our desire to make a positive impact on our planet. Together, we are revolutionizing crop protection through our exclusive micropeptide technology.
We are looking for a Technician in Bioprocesses to join our team dedicated to the bio-production of peptides. The position holder will work mainly in the laboratory to develop and optimize upstream (USP) and downstream (DSP) bioprocesses. He/she will also participate in analytical measurements.
Main Responsibilities:
• Development USP (UpStream Process): contribute to the implementation and optimization of culture processes in Erlenmeyers and bioreactors.
• Development DSP (Down Stream Process): collaborate on the optimization of peptide purification steps by implementing different extraction and separation techniques.
• Laboratory Analyses: perform basic analytical tests for the monitoring of our developments (e.g., HPLC, spectrophotometry, dry matter…).
• Stability Monitoring of Products: monitor the stability of peptide product batches according to established protocols.
• Documentation and Results Processing:
o Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data from USP and DSP processes.
o Propose improvements based on the results obtained and participate in technical discussions to adjust processes.
o Write and keep technical documentation up to date (protocols, reports, SOPs).
o Ensure compliance with good laboratory practices (GLP) and participate in its daily management.
The profile we are looking for:
A profile with a Bac +2/+3 in biotechnology, biochemistry, bioprocesses or equivalent, you have a successful first professional experience in a similar position in bioprocess development.
Pilot scale experience would be a plus.
