ASSISTANT MANAGER
DIILS Ace Hardware is looking for a dependable, experienced leader to help manage daily store operations, support our associates, and provide excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Help oversee all daily store operations
- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed properly
- Keep the store stocked, clean, organized, and ready for customers
- Supervise checkout, returns, special services, receiving, and stocking
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
- Maintain accurate inventory and place orders when needed
- Ensure merchandise is properly priced, tagged, signed, and displayed
- Keep sales and receiving areas clear of pallets, boxes, and trash
- Train associates on store policies and procedures
- Create weekly schedules and assign daily responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee files and store records
- Enforce safety procedures and lead by example
- Step into leadership wherever needed to support the business
- At least 2 years of retail management experience
- Strong knowledge of hardware-related products or a willingness to learn
- Strong leadership and team-development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to solve problems and manage multiple responsibilities
- Experience with retail computer systems preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to bend, twist, lift, and move merchandise
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
