Assistant Store Manager

ASSISTANT MANAGER

DIILS Ace Hardware is looking for a dependable, experienced leader to help manage daily store operations, support our associates, and provide excellent customer service.

• Help oversee all daily store operations
• Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed properly
• Keep the store stocked, clean, organized, and ready for customers
• Supervise checkout, returns, special services, receiving, and stocking
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally
• Maintain accurate inventory and place orders when needed
• Ensure merchandise is properly priced, tagged, signed, and displayed
• Keep sales and receiving areas clear of pallets, boxes, and trash
• Train associates on store policies and procedures
• Create weekly schedules and assign daily responsibilities
• Maintain accurate employee files and store records
• Enforce safety procedures and lead by example
• Step into leadership wherever needed to support the business

• At least 2 years of retail management experience
• Strong knowledge of hardware-related products or a willingness to learn
• Strong leadership and team-development skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Ability to solve problems and manage multiple responsibilities
• Experience with retail computer systems preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to bend, twist, lift, and move merchandise
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
