Route Service Representative (RSR)
The Route Service Representative (RSR) is the face of Simple and plays a critical role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while driving account retention, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and route efficiency. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day service needs of assigned healthcare accounts, ensuring customers receive reliable linen solutions while identifying opportunities to expand services and strengthen relationships.
The ideal candidate is a customer-focused professional who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, and operating independently while representing the organization with professionalism and integrity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and end users.
- Deliver clean linen and related products while ensuring customer satisfaction and service excellence.
- Collect and transport soiled linen according to established safety, infection prevention, and handling procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate customer needs proactively.
- Identify opportunities to increase revenue through additional products and service offerings.
- Support customer retention initiatives through excellent service and issue resolution.
- Partner with Customer Success, Operations, and Plant teams to ensure service commitments are met.
- Maintain route schedules and optimize daily stops to maximize productivity and service efficiency.
- Generate referrals and communicate potential business opportunities to Sales leadership.
- Negotiate customer renewals and support long-term account growth strategies.
- Load and unload route vehicles safely and accurately.
- Complete vehicle inspections, route documentation, and required reporting.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the Simple brand positively at all times.
- Follow all DOT requirements, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service, route sales, account management, delivery, or related experience.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to meet DOT requirements and obtain/maintain a DOT Medical Card.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating 26-28 foot straight trucks.
- Route sales or route service experience.
- Account management or customer retention experience.
- Experience working in healthcare, linen services, logistics, distribution, uniform rental, or related industries.
- Experience utilizing handheld technology, route management software, or CRM systems.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to push and pull linen carts weighing up to 700 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb stairs throughout the workday.
- Ability to sit and operate a vehicle for extended periods, up to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions while performing deliveries and pickups.
- Customer-facing role with daily travel to healthcare facilities and customer locations.
- Frequent loading, unloading, and transportation of linen products.
- Fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail, organization, and customer service.
