Position Summary:

The Class I Engineer is expected to perform highly skilled maintenance and repair duties for the property, including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, and plumbing skills.

$22.00/hr - $25.00/hr

• Act as Assistant Chief Engineer during absence and assume responsibilities.
• Work and manage mechanical, guest room, public space, and PM programs.
• Manage lights and grounds program.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, replace HVAC compressors.
• Take chiller and water heater readings, water samples, test tower water and record data.
• Repair plumbing issues, operate boilers, chiller operation, water treatment.
• Understand blueprints and wiring diagrams; trace and repair drain and water lines.
• Maintain preventive maintenance logs, manage inventory program.
• Work unsupervised; direct other engineering associates and work with contractors.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Trade school or college coursework in a related field preferred.
• At least 3 years’ practical experience in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, etc.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to climb stairs, descend stairs, move quickly, and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods, walk long distances, bend, stretch, twist or reach.
• Work under variable temperatures, noise levels; handling chemicals, fumes, odor, dust risks.
• Good communication skills, fluency in English preferred.
• Strong problem solving, decision making, and assimilation of complex information.
• Knowledge of energy management an asset.

• Refrigeration, electrical, plumbing skills; boiler operation; water treatment; chiller operation.
• Working knowledge of legal issues in compliance with CFC/EPA/ADA/IAQ/OSHA.

Must be available for a 7 days a week, 24 hours a day schedule subject to change.
