Field Services Technician - Level 2

Role Overview

As a part of Johnson Controls’ Data Center Solutions business unit, Silent-Aire is at the forefront of creating products to support the data center industry. The role of a Field Services Technician is to support commissioning and after‑sales service, working unsupervised and making informed decisions.

• Check in with Manager after each workday while in the field; complete all company‑provided forms as instructed.
• Complete daily scheduled tasks and report status to Manager or Field Supervisor as needed.
• Check in with client at the beginning and end of each workday and obtain client signatures on forms.
• Use Time Clocks and the ADP app to account for daily times; hand in paperwork at the end of each trip for sequential processing.
• Ensure all receipts or invoices for expenses have job numbers and are sent to the correct person; document excess materials used for each job.
• Assist job sites with other JCI/Silent‑Aire Field Technicians as required.
• Answer office emails and calls in a timely manner; keep Manager or Field Supervisor aware of status.
• Secure parts and tools needed throughout the day; report warranty repairs and provide necessary information.
• Consult Manager or Field Supervisor during times of uncertainty and give training to Level1 Field Service Technicians.
• Follow all company policies, lead by example, and strictly adhere to non‑disclosure policies both on the jobsite and away.
• Maintain all safety equipment at all times.

• High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
• Registered apprentice in Electrical or HVAC.
• Willing to travel up to 70% of the time.
• Full understanding of basic electrical and control systems, HVAC and mechanical systems, and ability to use a multimeter.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and maintain required records and reports.
• Valid passport or driver’s license.
• Aptitude and communication skills for independent work.
• Knowledge of internal and industry design and construction codes and standards.
• Planning, organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
• Ability to lift 40lbs and use ladders or other equipment working from heights.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing facilities and/or field environments.
• Basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Preferred:
  Registered refrigeration/HVAC tech, controls tech, electrician journeyman, or related tradesperson.
• Experience in highly sensitive and/or mission‑critical facilities.

• Competitive pay: $25.50–$34.10 per hour.
