AV Technician
Our AV Tech Installers are the client facing Unified Communications ambassadors with the knowledge share of assisting with delivering onsite technical AV solutions. They are also responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of the client’s selected AV solution based on proven best practices and methodologies. Our AV Tech Installers can think on their feet and can quickly identify any roadblocks and escalate to the project AV Lead Installer.
Our AV Tech Installers also have great organizational skills, technical skills and interpersonal skills. They are well spoken and easily able to win the trust and confidence of our clients.

Experience in hands on IT or AV technology installations such as but not limited to:
- Structured Cabling
- Audio/Video Conferencing Solutions
- Speaker Installations
- Camera Installations
- Video Surveillance
- TV/Display Installations
- Wireless Access Points
- Rack Builds
- CAT6A Cabling Terminations
- Hands on experience in installation of Audio-Visual Conferencing Systems, TV/Display Installations, Structured Cabling Buildouts, Rack Buildouts
- Experience working in teams and independently to complete commercial installation and service projects
- 1-2 years’ experience in the AV field implementation
- Technically inclined with the ability to evaluate situations, utilizing logical and decisive reasoning
- The ability to demonstrate computer literacy, i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Auto Cad
Interface directly with the AV Lead Installer who is in general act as Unified Communications on-site representative between the installation tech(s) and the customer.
Your main job is to install and share the excitement of our communications and collaboration products, solutions, services, and meeting space technologies with our customers, employees, and partners.
Be extremely well versed in our product and service offerings, as well as the services and products that our stuff connects to.
Obtain and read all relevant project documents including, but not limited to: bid drawings and specifications, project workbook, subcontractor scopes of work, and construction schedule.
Review and understand statements of work and project requirements to identify the time frames to deliver.
Ensure that you and our technicians, contractors, and other workers maintain a high level of professionalism commensurate with our standards.
Responsible for effective communication with AV Lead Installer including issues, challenges or concerns when required or needed.
Review project status daily with AV Lead Installer to keep it on schedule, identify problem areas at an early stage, and develop and implement solutions.
Strive to deliver a consistent, high-quality service and customer experience that customers and partners compliment us on.
Provide project reports to AV Lead Installer and attend review meetings of all projects and resources.
Raise any issues to management for escalation. To advert major delivery shortfalls, elevate above your own supervisor based on importance and urgency.
Use experience, manufacturer support, specialist knowledge and training to investigate technical issues.
RequirementsTravel:
The role involves extensive travel; most projects range from 2 to 3 days and larger projects up to 1–2 weeks. Travel arrangements will be booked from a major international airport unless prior approval is obtained from the Director or Manager.
Travel schedules:
Weekly travel may begin and be booked for a Sunday afternoon/evening departure (earlier or later reservations may be required based on flight availability and schedule). Return trips will be booked for a Friday afternoon/evening return and sometimes early Saturday morning departure. Weekend availability may also be required to meet client deadlines and/or completion of scheduled projects.
Be flexible to work extended hours and weekend times when required.
Proactively manage the change order process.
Regularly inspect installation work performed by staff and/or subcontractors.
Ensure the testing, certification, and proper performance of installed systems.
Coordinate and/or provide training to client.
Other duties as assigned.
