As a part of Johnson Controls’ Data Center Solutions business unit, Silent‑Aire is at the forefront of creating energy‑efficient cooling systems for the data center industry. Our custom computer room air handling units (CRAHU) support mission‑critical data‑center operations.

- Support Silent‑Aire’s Mission Critical Services, working unsupervised and making informed decisions to complete tasks as instructed.
- Complete detailed end‑of‑day reports, identifying and reporting any manufacturing or construction deficiencies.
- Utilize knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems (electric motors, motor controls, pumps, fans, economizers, humidifiers, VFDs, etc.) to troubleshoot and maintain equipment.
- Solder, brazing, and hand‑tooling tasks to assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical/electronic wiring and components.
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment and standards at all times.
- Coordinate with dispatchers and managers for the preparation and return of tools and parts.
- Communicate regularly with customers, general contractors, and Silent‑Aire employees; answer office emails/calls promptly.
- Provide documentation and signage on company‑provided forms; submit paperwork in sequential order.
- Assist other field technicians on job sites and participate in daily construction, commissioning, and team meetings.
- Maintain a positive relationship with coworkers, clients, and customers; build client confidence.
- Respect and strictly adhere to non‑disclosure policies on and off the job site.
- Provide information to management on training needs and courses of interest.
- Maintain daily preparation of parts and tools, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Run the day‑to‑day site crews under the direction of the lead mechanic, following all company policies and leading by example.
- High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate; at least an apprentice license or ten years of trade‑related experience (or equivalent education/experience).
- At least a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to local job sites on request.
- Experience with electric motors (3‑phase and 1‑phase), motor controls, pumps, fans, economizers, humidifiers, VFDs, and electrical component troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in soldering and brazing; ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Basic knowledge of Windows Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools, meters, and handheld troubleshooting equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management abilities.
- Proven ability to work well with other technicians and tradesmen.
- Strong desire to develop knowledge and skills continuously.
- Good hygiene and cleanliness at all times; adherence to safety and PPE requirements.
- Ability to pass a DOD background check and provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- Willingness to travel to domestic and international customer locations.
- Preferred: mastery of temperature and humidity measurement and control in air‑conditioning units; EPA 608 Certification.
