Location: Chatsworth

We are seeking an experienced Generator Technician to support a growing power generation company in the Northeast, GA area ( Dalton, Chatsworth, Ball Ground, Dawsonville & Suwanee).

Position Offers

Overtime paid at 1.5x base rate

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on diesel and natural gas generators ranging from 5kW to 5MW
Diagnose and repair Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), including bypass isolation and closed transition systems
Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems, control panels, and associated components
Conduct load bank testing and system performance checks to ensure proper operation and compliance
Perform generator start-ups, commissioning, and warranty repairs per manufacturer guidelines
Utilize OEM diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve system issues
Communicate clearly with customers, documenting service findings, recommendations, and job status
Manage service documentation, scheduling, and inventory in a field-based environment
Collaborate with other technicians on large or complex projects as needed

Requirements

2+ years of experience servicing diesel and/or natural gas generators and electrical power systems
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation independently
Generac certification preferred
Associate degree in electrical or mechanical field preferred
Comfortable working independently in a field-based role with travel and occasional overnight stays
