The Heavy Equipment Operator will support Aptim Federal Services Civil IJO Shop 536 at Fort Benning by operating heavy equipment such as:
Bulldozers, Skid-Steers, Mini-Excavators, Large Excavators, Frontend Loaders, Rollers, Man-lifts, Farm Tractors with attachments, and Motor Graders with or without joysticks. The Operator will be expected to use equipment to excavate, load, move dirt, gravel, or other materials to construct earth berms, building pads, install culvert pipe, erosion repair, and areas for paving with asphalt or concrete.
- Daily time entry.
- Daily operation of heavy equipment.
Read and interpret grade/slope stakes and simple plans.
Ensure equipment is in the best working condition by conducting daily inspections, equipment greasing, minor repairs, and cleaning equipment daily.
Other job duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications- Must have 3-5 years of experience being an Equipment Operator.
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy).
Wage rates and fringe benefits for this position are governed by terms of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the company and a union with jurisdiction for the job location.
CBAs for union projects typically include a retirement plan (such as a pension, annuity, or 401(k)), health insurance (e.g., medical, dental, vision), and other benefits. APTIM pays the costs for some fringe benefit plans for employees working on union projects. Under some CBAs, however, you may be required to contribute a percentage of your wages toward the cost of these benefits.
Additionally, you may also qualify for paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid vacation, and supplemental insurance plans (e.g., life, short-term disability, long-term disability). The CBA contains the terms and conditions of eligibility as well as information about any costs to you.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $28.76 per hour.
