Under general supervision, the Facility Lead is responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse and performing a variety of skilled and semi‑skilled building and facilities tasks involving carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC skills, operation of power tools, and light‑to‑medium equipment. Work is performed with some independence within established policies and may be subject to general or direct supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain the condition of the building and equipment, performing general maintenance and completing simple repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanical, electrical, or custodial areas.
- Execute and maintain preventative maintenance systems for building and equipment, conducting routine and long‑term preventive maintenance and collaborating with site management on inspections.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair building and equipment, ensuring daily operation of all material handling equipment and reporting any problems.
- Identify, report, and correct safety hazards, ensuring a safe work site during repairs or maintenance.
- Coordinate and schedule daily/weekend work tasks for Maintenance Associates/Technicians, providing guidance, technical support, and training.
- Diagnose problems, make recommendations for resolution, and perform emergency repairs on all equipment and furnishings.
- Operate site equipment such as sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper, scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, or pallet jack, adhering to basic safety forklift guidelines and maintaining active certification.
- Assist in grounds maintenance as assigned.
- Complete required reports, memos, and correspondence, maintaining communication with associates, technicians, and other departments.
- Promote safety, housekeeping, and compliance, ensuring organization, cleanliness, and adherence to SOPs, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety and work rules, and OSHA/MSDS standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least one year of general facilities, systems maintenance, and repair experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months ranging from mild to moderate.
Computer Skills
- Basic computer skills.
Certificates & Licenses
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
Language Skills
- English (reading, writing, verbal).
Mathematical Skills
- Basic math.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot general maintenance and service problems.
- Ability to read and follow manufacturer’s instruction manuals.
- Ability to spot problems or potential problems and take initiative to correct them.
