JOB SUMMARY:

This position will demonstrate the skills needed to inspect, diagnose, and solve problems with machines or building operations; perform basic repairs and implement preventative measures to ensure equipment longevity and functionality.

EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three years of general building maintenance experience.
Prior Hospital experience a plus
Must have High School diploma or GED. Course work or other appropriate trades training is highly desirable.
Course work, training and demonstrated competency in at least three of these building trades:
HVAC
Electrical
Plumbing
Framing and Carpentry
CMMS systems
Building Automation Systems
Drywall replace, patch and repair
Interior and Exterior Painting
Flooring
Window Operations and Repair
Doors to include fire, smoke, and control
Locking Mechanisms to include Electronic Access Control
Mechanical Systems (Medical gases, vacuums...)
Familiarity with tools

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the mission and vision of the organization.
Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures.
Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs).
Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.
Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.

Successful completion of Maintenance Technician II Competency Check Sheet within (90) days of hire

WORKING CONDITIONS:

May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.
May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.
May be required to change from one task to another or different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.
Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
May be scheduled as needed including overtime.
May be required to stay at or return to work during public health incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties specific to this classification or to perform other duties as requested in an assigned response position.
This may require working a non-traditional work schedule or working outside normal assigned duties during the incident and/or emergency.
All technicians are required to provide your own hand tools; power tools will be made available by the facility; must be available for on call as needed; have reliable transportation and must be able to respond to the facility in (1) hour or less.

Sitting, Climbing, Twist at waist, Lift/Carry greater than 50 lbs. with assistance, Reaching above shoulder.
