Apple Mountain Golf Resort located in Clarkesville, Georgia is seeking a full‑time, hourly Irrigation Technician to join our Agronomy team. This position includes a full benefits package:
Medical, Dental, Vision coverage, Paid Time Off, and Holiday Pay. Experience with Golf Course irrigation and Rain Bird is preferred but not required.
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
Job DescriptionThe irrigation specialist, under the supervision of the golf course superintendent or assistant golf course superintendent, is responsible for the programming, operation, and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system(s). The irrigation specialist must report any irregularities in course turf quality to the superintendent or assistant superintendent.
Duties & Responsibilities- Performs preventative maintenance on the irrigation system including the lake recirculation system and water features.
- Determines wet and dry areas for adjustments of sprinkler heads.
- Properly inventories and stocks all irrigation parts and tools to minimize downtime.
- Maintains working knowledge of pump station maintenance requirements.
- Operates, maintains, and repairs complex irrigation system, including leaks on distribution lines, valve risers, electrical system, and computer and irrigation control wire.
- Reports any serious irrigation breaks immediately to the Head Irrigation Technician or Superintendent and maintains a daily log of completed repairs.
- Prioritises irrigation breaks and uses time efficiently.
- Conducts monthly checks of all sprinkler heads on the entire golf facility.
- Routinely inspects irrigation system components to ensure proper operation.
- Responsible for winterisation and blowout of irrigation system, including all water lines, valves, and pump stations.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.

Degree/LicensesCertificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of experience.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: regular full range of mobility in upper and lower body; ability to reach overhead; ability to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods; ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment and often lift 50 pounds per day and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, mechanical hazards, and electrical hazards. Work extended hours during golf season.
