Overview
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Seasonal Agricultural Worker for the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station. The position assists with maintenance of insect colonies and data collection at the Marucci Center and various agricultural field sites.
Responsibilities- Assist in laboratory experiments.
- Conduct agricultural field experiments.
- Evaluate samples collected in the previous and current field season.
- Maintain greenhouse materials.
- Rear insect colonies.
- Perform data entry and analysis.
Minimum
Education and Experience:
High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.
Certifications/Licenses: A valid driver’s license.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of proper procedures and steps for laboratory and agricultural field experiments; ability to execute experiments accurately, in a timely manner, and with little supervision.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in natural sciences; background in entomology is preferred but not necessary.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Special Conditions: Clean driving record.
SalaryHourly rate: $15.92 - $25.00, depending on qualifications, experience, and funding.
Working Hours & ArrangementFull time, 40 hours per week, day shift. Position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
