Southway Crane and Rigging Inc. is seeking a full‑time experienced Crane/Truck Technician Mechanic to help build our branch location. The mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, forklifts, and other equipment, while complying with all state and federal laws, safety, and environmental policies.

Responsibilities- Supply your own tools and maintain an up‑to‑date tool inventory.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and other equipment.
- Document all maintenance and repairs, file records accurately.
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of various Crane/Truck equipment including mobile cranes (all terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks).
- Test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products after repair or modifications to ensure proper operation and OEM compliance.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Maintain all equipment according to safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate reports, time sheets, work orders, and expense reports.
- Work overtime, weekends, evenings, and be ready for drug screening and background check.
- Communicate safety issues verbally to customers and coworkers on location.
- Report to Supervisor or Lead Mechanic on completion of assigned job tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred). Trade school diploma also preferred.
- 3–7 years of experience performing maintenance and repairs on hydraulic cranes.
- At least 3 years as a mobile crane mechanic/technician with ability to inspect, diagnose defects.
- Working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, LICCON systems.
- Proficiency in reading operating parts manuals and technical drawings.
- Experience testing mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic components to ensure compliance.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Strong commitment to safety regulations.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- TWIC card or ability to obtain TWIC quickly.
- Physical ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Interpret, read, and write reports in English.
- Mechanical and analytical skills.
- Read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematics.
- Prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
- Operate crane using hand signals.
