Overview
Axillon Aerospace is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Electrician to join our Facilities Department at our Rockmart location. As a Maintenance Electrician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our aerospace and defense manufacturing facility by maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. This full-time, regular position is ideal for a mid-career professional who is looking to advance their career in a dynamic and innovative industry.
The Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams; conducting routine inspections of electrical systems; installing and maintaining wiring, control, and lighting systems; inspecting electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers; identifying electrical problems using a variety of testing devices; repairing or replacing wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools;
following state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code; and directing and training workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will be expected to manage your tasks efficiently without the need for travel, contributing to the overall success of Axillon Aerospace's operations.
- Interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems.
- Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems.
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
- Identify electrical problems using testing devices and tools.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a strong commitment to safety.
- Work independently as well as part of a team and manage tasks efficiently without requiring travel.
- Proven expertise in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Proficiency with electrical testing devices and tools.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot electrical problems.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools for electrical repairs.
- Understanding of state and local building regulations, including the National Electric Code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Experience with electrical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Track record of conducting routine inspections and performing preventative maintenance.
- Experience working with electrical systems including wiring, control, and lighting systems.
- Experience inspecting electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
- Demonstrated ability to follow electrical code specifications and building regulations.
- Experience directing and training staff on electrical system installations, maintenance, or repairs.
- Prior experience in a role requiring minimal supervision and high levels of initiative.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational level with relevant technical training.
- Any relevant certifications or licenses as an electrician are highly desirable.
