Responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing A/V and security infrastructure in a low voltage environment. The ideal candidate will be able to meet the physical demands of the worksite as well as provide excellent customer service.
Essential Job Functions- Installs A/V and security equipment per the plans provided for the specific application.
- Maintain professional attitude with emphasis on safety and customer service.
- Hang, mount, rack, install, and rig equipment per plans and specifications.
- Read and Interpret manuals, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and specifications.
- Properly sets up a variety of testers (fiber and copper).
- Performs system testing and troubleshooting as required.
- Terminates, labels, tests, and troubleshoots optical fiber and copper installations.
- Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly.
- Builds closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware).
- Responsible for meeting deadlines and managing materials and tools.
- Responsible for completing daily timesheets and job documentation.
- Other duties assigned by management
Job Skills
- Able to lift heavy objects, work on construction sites.
- Able to use hand tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, wrench set, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves.
- Punctual and Dependable.
- Effective Communications.
- 1+ years construction, cabling, A/V, or physical security experience preferred.
- Solid team player.
- High attention to detail.
- Able to meet deadlines.
- Able to work on construction sites as well as in office setting.
- High School Diploma/ GED equivalency.
Work environment consists of a varied environments, including but not limited to construction and occasional office.
Physical Demands- Sit, Stand and Walk.
- Manipulate, handle, reach, use and to finger, feel, and control items or equipment.
- Able to read, write and interpret written documents, plans and drawings.
- Clearly communicate/speak/hear effectively with clients and coworkers.
- Life heavy equipment more than 20+ pounds.
(Reliable transportation to and from jobsite is necessary, a truck/van is not required).
