Maintenance Technician

The work hours for this position are Mon-Fri, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all departments of the company building, administrative and warehouse, acting as the contact for emergency situations that affect ISS ability to open for business.
Additionally, the technician will assess and consider the safety of our employees, the security of our assets, and the service to our clients and team members daily.
Duties include painting and patching, minor electrical repairs, plumbing, drywall repair, usage of hand tools, access control system maintenance, grounds/landscaping maintenance, equipment maintenance and fire/life safety building maintenance. Maintenance activities in the GMP space and pest control implementation require a comprehensive understanding of site level SOP's.
Success criteria include complying with safety rules, performing work assignments in a team, following all company procedures, taking direction and responding to supervision, communicating professionally, supporting shift lead in completing punch-list items, using proper personal protective equipment, presenting a professional appearance and conduct, and understanding customer service and satisfaction.
Key areas of collaboration and influence include a solid commitment to the guest experience, remembering safety first, building respectful relationships with all teammates and guests, willingness to take directions from all levels of management, and coordinating activities with other internal departments.
Ideal candidate experience includes a high school graduate, certificate in trade school or equivalent work experience, 3 - 5 years' work experience, understanding how things work (facility related), ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) with all employees, contractors, and vendors, self-starter and team player, ability to prioritize and manage multi functional tasks, ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure, ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools, and forklift qualified.
Key accountabilities include assisting with maintaining the building; immediately responding to building emergencies on a 24-hour basis, monitoring and replacing light bulbs in all assigned facilities, as needed, monitoring contractor performance and working closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications, performing basic plumbing and electrical work and determining when further attention is required, and performing other maintenance duties as assigned by the Building Maintenance Supervisor.
Physical demands and work environment include standing for long periods of time, walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching/crawling and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds, specific vision abilities, ability to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods, frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, high, unsafe places, fumes/airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration, occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and the noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
